We were robbed = TechnoSports Hiatus -

Folks, we here at TSI are sad to inform our audience that we were robbed. The losses were substantial and included every single piece of equipment we used for the show, with the exception of our laptops and the turntables/mixer. As a result, we will be taking a hiatus until we can recover from this cataclysmic event. We will be back, however, with new gear for a new season and new guest DJs and live PAs, so don’t you worry. What doesn’t kill you only pisses you off and makes you have to do a whole bunch of shitty work and spend all this money just to get back to square one, and makes you stronger. You can’t stop the techno.

R.I.P.

2 Hours of Love with guest Brian Bishop - Episode 23 -

Episode 23 of 2 Hours of Love featured not only an all vinyl set by Dallas’ premiere DJ/Dentist, Brian Bishop, but also an impromptu TB 303/drum machine/vinyl jam with the members of the TechnoSports crew. Brian’s set showcased some really amazing records (including a rare flexi disc) spanning from DMX Krew to Unit Moebius to just plain old rare jams to which we here at TechnoSports are unsuccessfully struggling to attach some sort of genre label. All in all, it was an eclectic, interactive, educational and fun episode of 2 Hours of Love. Enjoy!

This Sunday: 2 Hours of Love featuring Brian Bishop -

This week’s episode of 2 Hours of Love features another one of those Dallas DJ’s that goes about his business in exactly the way TechnoSports wishes more people would. Initially blown away by Brian’s set at Minto George’s going away party at Minc Club (R.I.P.), we soon discovered not only that Brian has an absolutely ridiculous record collection, but also a pretty mean synth collection and is a dentist. Except some pretty wonderful records you’ve never heard before in your life and a great episode. Tune in Sunday from 8pm-10pm (Dallas time) at http://stickam.com/technosports.

2 Hours of Love with guest Timco - Episode 22 -

Episode 22 of 2 Hours of Love featured a friend of the show and close affiliate DJ Timco. Tim has been around the dance music scene in Dallas since the late 80’s and shares ties with TechnoSports to the greats of the city’s underground electronic music culture. His all-vinyl set was clean, stylistically varied and full of tracks that we were not familiar with, but very much enjoyed. His second time on the show was a very strong performance, and he showed why he’s one of the very few DJ’s we consider part of the TechnoSports crew.

This Sunday: 2 Hours of Love featuring Shane English -

This week’s episode of 2 Hours of Love features a guest DJ set by Shane English, along with a post-set interview. Shane, of Corporate Park, a project very highly touted by TechnoSports, will likely be showing everyone a thing or two about darkness, about the occult, about noise and about electronic rhythms. An episode of 2HOL that is very near and dear to our hearts, this Sunday from 8pm-10pm CST at http://stickam.com/technosports.

2 Hours of love with guest Revolv - Episode 20 -

Episode 20 of 2HOL featured a DJ set from Revolv - a permanent member of the TechnoSports crew. His set delved into the worlds of deep techno, broken beat and electro, mostly from the 90’s and 2000’s - all of which were blended in that characteristic way that focuses more on demonstrating the rhythmic complexity and deep understanding of synthesis embodied in the upper echelons of electronic music, rather than to show off any one genre or style. Like the DJ himself, the set is casual and thoughtful, but it is also brimming with the energy and intelligence that sums up the TechnoSports philosophy and approach toward music.

This Sunday: 2 Hours of Love featuring DJ Revolv -

Episode 20 of 2HOL will feature guest DJ Revolv (down low music) doing an all vinyl set and post-set interview live in the TechnoSports studio. Revolv is one of the few core DJs that not only inspired TechnoSports as a concept, but also helps maintain the core purpose of our organization through the propagation of soulful, sophisticated and cerebral electronic music and a dedication to the most lofty ideals of what techno, house and electro attempt to express as art forms. Basically, it’s going to go hard as fuck. Don’t miss.

2 Hours of Love with guest Bill Converse - Episode 19 -

Not much to say about 2 Hours of Love Episode 19 except a DJ set from none other than Bill Converse. The set was recorded via microphone, so it’s got that “in the club” feel, which is pretty appropriate considering he rocked the decks like he was at a New Years Eve party, rather than inside the TechnoSports studio.

2 Hours of Love with guest FUR - Episode 18 -

Bryce Isbell and Gray St. Germain Gideon aka FUR came to the TechnoSports studio and the Waaga Records-signed act showed the 2 Hours of Love audience something they had not yet heard on the show. Embracing a wide-ranging form of music with producers like J Dilla and House Shoes at its nucleus, FUR’s set picked from a spectrum of oddly-swinging, sample-based left field beats that drew from funk, hip hop, UK garage, nuJazz and a whole host of other soulful genres. Their most recent single Polybreak served as a perfect precursor to the kind of experimental, patiently-crafted  rhythms that made up their DJ set. If FUR shows up at a venue near you during their upcoming tour, TechnoSports suggest you pay them a visit.

This Sunday: 2 Hours of Love featuring a FUR DJ set -

2 Hours of Love is proud to present Denton duo FUR doing an exclusive, in-studio DJ set with both Bryce Isbell and Gray Saint Germain Gideon, as well as a post-set interview. These guys have received excellent reviews from the likes of Britain’s The Guardian newspaper and Pitchfork, which is awesome, but of course not something to which we here at TechnoSports attach too much value. What we do always value, however, is their actual music, which draws from influences ranging form micro house to Detroit hip hop to lo-fi analog ambience. Expect good things from this DJ set this Sunday from 8-10pm US Central Time at http://stickam.com/technosports.

You can get some more info on FUR here.

And you can download their new 7” release on Waaga here.
